Edward Snowden runs out of options
Tuesday, the fugitive former NSA intelligence contractor Edward Snowden withdrew his application to stay in Russia after President Vladimir Putin said he must stop his anti-US activity. Putin did promise not to hand him over to the United States where he faces prosecution for leaking classified data as a whistleblower. Snowden, 29, has been stuck in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport for eight days having asked for political asylum in 15 countries without results.
