Egyptian court annuls death sentence of ex-President Morsi

An Egyptian appeals court on Tuesday overturned the death sentence that was given to the country's previous president, Mohammad Morsi, in 2015. Along with 14 other senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, he had been charged in 2013 with murder and incitement to murder of demonstrators, leaking of secrets to Qatar, and conspiring with the Hamas organization. Morsi was sentenced to death and 40 years in prison.
