Egyptian FM and Clinton jointly announce Gaza ceasefire

The announcement that a ceasefire in Gaza would go into effect at 2100 hours local time was made in Cairo by the Egyptian foreign minister Mohamed Kamel Amr and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Cairo Wednesday, Nov. 21.  An Israeli statement is expected.
The inner security cabinet of nine ministers headed by the Israeli prime minister earlier ended a long meeting Tuesday with a decision to reject proposals for a unilateral ceasefire.
