Egypt’s election extended to third day over low turnout

Turnout in Egypt’s presidential election was low in the first two days, Monday and Tuesday, and so it was decided to extend polling by a third day. Although no figures were released in Cairo. the fact of the extension was an embarrassment to the frontrunner, former army chief Abdul-Fattah El-Sisi, who had called on Egyptian voters to turn out in their masses.
