Eiffel Tower goes green as 150 world leaders open climate summit in Paris
The two-day summit on ways of dealing with the global warming crisis opened in Paris Monday attended by 150 world leaders. The Eiffel Towers was lit up in green like a tree with environmental messages projected on its metal “branches.” However, riot police vans and plainclothes officers formed a ring around the French capital and the northern suburb of Le Bourget, where the UN-sponsored conference is taking place, after Islamist terrorists murdered 130 people two weeks ago, some not far from the summit’s venue. The conference aims for a long-term global agreement among world leaders for real action to reduce man-made emissions.
