Eight injured, 2 critically, in terrorist attack in Jerusalem
A Palestinian opened fire on a No. 3 bus and two vehicles outside the Old City of Jerusalem early Sunday, injuring eight people, including two hospitalized in serious condition. The bus had driven from the Western Wall site and was taking on passengers at the King David Tomb bust stop when the attack began. A pregnant woman of 35, sitting in her car, was critically wounded in the abdomen. After induced childbirth at the Shaare Zedek hospital, she and her child remain in serious condition. A family of four tourists from the US were among the injured, including the 60-year old father who was seriously hurt.
The shooter, resident of East Jerusalem, later turned himself in to the police and handed over his gun. He has no record as a terrorist but did spend time in jail on criminal offenses.
