An eight-year old Jewish boy hurt in anti-Semitic attack in Paris

An eight-year-old boy wearing a kippa was attacked in the Paris suburb of Sarcelles Monday night, in what French officials suspect is the latest case of anti-Semitic violence. The boy was not badly hurt but is suffering from shock. President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the incident as “an attack on the republic.”

France’s Jewish community lives in fear of rising anti-Semitism. This was the third outrage in January alone, after a 15-year-old Jewish girl was attacked by a man in Sarcelles as she returned from school, and arsonists destroyed a kosher grocery store in Créteil, after defacing it with Nazi swastikas.
