Embassy: The top Russian officials’ talks in Israel were “high constructive”

The Russian embassy in Tel Aviv Tuesday rebuffed reports that Israel had spurned a Russian proposal to limit the Iranian presence in Syria to 100km from its borders as incorrect. The embassy statement characterized as “highly constructive” the talks Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chief of Staff Gen. Valery Gerasimov held in Jerusalem Monday with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. DEBKAfile: The two sides ended their talks without a single point of assent. Netanyahu rejected all the Russian proposals put before him.

The limit of 100 km could be tolerated for a day, provided the ayatollah gets castrated of live TV one day before.

You bet the talks were productive for the Russians. Tel Aviv told ’em to keep that David’s Sling missile that malfunctioned and fell in Syria. Heck, maybe they even transferred some more UAV tech to the Russians.

not necessarily any contradiction there. One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure. Perhaps total rejection was exactly what the russians wanted to hear… politics and economics can become complex.
