Eminent Sen. Lieberman: Congress must hear Netanyahu

The Independent former Democratic Senator and Jewish-American leader Joseph Lieberman published a strong appeal Monday to all members of Congress to go to the joint meeting and listen to what Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has to say next week. In an article in the Washington Post, the respected senator offered six compelling reasons why it is important for Congress to hear what Netanyahu has to say on the Iranian nuclear issue. Among them, he points out: the US Constitution gives members of Congress the power to “declare war, raise and support armies and provide and maintain a Navy. Netanyahu might say some things that will inform your exercise of those great powers,” Lieberman writes.

There is too much on the line for members to decide not to listen to him, or any other ally on the subject. He deserves a respectful hearing.
