Erdogan plans operation to clear Kurdish YPG as well as ISIS

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Friday, after welcoming the US pullout from Syria,  that he had promised President Donald Trump to take care of destroying ISIS remnants and only required American “logistic assistance.” But he also vowed: In the next months, we will see an operational style aimed at removing the “Kurdish terrorists” (YPG – Kurdish People’s Protection Units militia)…”

Isn’t it funny that Trump strengthens our alliance with Turkey, one of our key NATO allies in the region, and Congress labels the move chaotic? It’s clear that Congress will blame anything and everything on Trump at this point, even though they have the power to make critical changes, but instead choose to be indolent. Imagine if the time they wasted criticizing Trump went into legislation.

Teo – you’re right that the anti-American Democrats will bad mouth Trump even if he single handedly finds a cure for cancer. But Turkey is in NATO by name only. Turkey put a siege on our (NATO) airbase there until we (USAF) had to quickly remove all nuclear warheads from there so they don’t fall in Turkey’s hands. They are negotiating giving that airbase to Russia. They are clearly on the bad guys’ side now. They also provide support to terrorists like hamas and are trying to wipe out Israel, along side Iran.

The biggest threat to peace in the mid east is Mr Erdogan. All he is interested in is being grand master of a new ottoman empire. I’d rather see a continued slide of that empire into the dust bin of history.

absolutely. Erdogan is a huge threat to the region, and why Turkey is permitted to remain in Nato is a mystery to me. Meanwhile Trump stabs the Kurds in the back.

Kurds stabbed themselves in the back by their irreconcilable squabbling among their various factions.

Hard to accept changes.. but today when USS John C. Stennis aircraft ship went in Basra Gulf, 60 Iranian war ships accompanied to USS John C. Stennis. They even fired a sea to sea rocket right beside the USS John C. Stennis war ship. One call from Mr. Erdogan caused to Trump’s US to step down from Syria… Iran is clever to see the weak US, now everybody will bully US until they totally swapped from the Middle East. I suggest region countries to ally w/ Russia, Turkey and Iran or even w/ China. Kurds has to give up from a free Kurdistan and they have to get along with norms of regional countries.

Erdogan is such a transparent liar. Clearly daesh was part of his plan to destroy a kurdish sovereignty, and still is.

Kurds, set aside your factions. You will either hang together, or hang separately. Trump got tired of your irreconcilable squabbling.

What is needed is an operation to “clear” Erdogan from power.
