Erdogan sacks Turkey’s Syrian army chief for missing Manbij

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that President Tayyip Erdogan has fired Gen. İsmail Metin Temel, head of Turkey’s 2nd Army in Syria, and recalled him to  General Command Headquarters. Erdogan accused him of slowness in moving Turkish troops on the road to the key town of Manbij. As a result, Syrian forces got there first and blocked the road to the Turkish troops.
