Erdogan: Turkey will soon launch anti-Kurds op in East Euphrates

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday: “The time has come to carry out our intention to neutralize terrorists in the east of the Euphrates. In the coming days, an operation will be launched there.” He named the Syrian Kurds as the source of instability in the region. His plan flies in the face of accords he reached with the US on the allocation of areas of influence in northeastern Syria. Washington has recently warned Ankara that if its army crossed into East Euphrates it would face armed resistance.

Divide NATO and rule, not that Erdoğan needs much encouragement.

Just a casual observation, would it be so bad to divide anatolia up between the greeks, armenians, kurds, the anatolian remnants, and leave some for the turks? I really think the ottoman empire has run its course, time to move on…

Once Erdogan’s Turkey gains certain amount of oil and gas resources, Turkey will try to do anything to push their own interests against USA, Russia or any Western Countries… Although Turkey declares war against Kurds that settled by US in Syria, US did not hesitate to hit Russians when they attempted to cross to Eastern Euphrates River. Also, US is very aware that Turkey did not and will not participate anything against Iran. Erdogan is not going to give up to buy S-400s from Russia. Turkey tries to eliminate Kurds that can degrade its pro-Turkish, anti-Semitic and Islamist politics in region. This recent event is going to test US power. Are they still world leading super-power/respected country or is it going to be beginning of wiping US in the middle east?

If America really wants to stop the pigedogan, they have to show turks how destructive American weapons. Erdogan’s Turkey respect to Putin’s Russia because Erdogan knows that Putin is not polite as US is. Putin is not thinking twice to show its fist, but US overwhelmingly diplomatic talks, texts, tweets etc… that’s why Turkey does not even attempt to do any action Russia’s interest while Turks see a gap to play in American’s diplomatic tweets. US has to stop being polite to Turks.

I cannot believe that the US id actually considering selling F-35’s to Turkey. It’s time to cut our ties with this nut job Erdogan and move all our military out of Turkey.

Nobody wants to risk a direct confrontation between the US and allies on the one hand, and Turkey and its allies on the other. But a proxy war by the battle-hardened and now well-supplied YPG/PKK/SPG Kurds would bleed Turkey dry, in conjunction with the economic sanctions which are coming soon. And when Erdogan is overthrown from within, Turkey will find itself a much smaller nation, and we can concentrate on containing Iran.
