European foreign ministers endorse French ‘peace initiative’
The foreign ministers of the European Union on Monday unanimously approved the French 'peace initiative' regarding Israel and the Palestinians. France's top diplomat Jean-Marc Ayrault said during the meeting that France will set up working groups in July to formulate proposals for economic incentives for Israel and the Palestinians if they agree to participate in the process.
Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu will meet US Secretary of State John Kerry in Europe this week in an attempt to prevent possible American support for the French plan.
