Ex-crown prince of Saudi Arabia under virtual house arrest: reports
Former Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, who was removed last week from the line of succession, has been prevented from leaving his palace and barred from leaving the country, according to reports on Thursday. The restrictions seek to limit any potential opposition to the new crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, American officials and Saudis were quoted as saying. Later, a Saudi official denied that the former crown prince is under any restrictions. The 82-year-old King Salman placed his 31-year-old son next in line to the throne on June 21.
