Ex-IDF Gen. Udi Adam named director-general of Defense Ministry

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon announced Tuesday that retired IDF Gen. Udi Adam, 58, will be appointed as the ministry's new director-general, replacing retired Gen. Dan Harel. Adam, the son of the late Gen. Yekutiel Adam who was killed during the first Lebanon war, served for 30 years in the IDF in a series of senior posts, including head of the Northern Command. He recently served as chairman of Israel Military Industries.
