Extra security for Mumbai Jews and Israelis after terrorist threat
The Council of Indian Jewry has sent advisories to eight synagogues in Mumbai and Thane calling for extra vigilance after the Indian Mujahideen terrorist group’s leader Yasin Bhatkal was arrested. He said his organization planned to target Jews and members of the Israeli consulate. During the Sukkot festival the synagogues are packed, the council secretary Ezra Moses told the Hindustan Times.
