FBI investigating San Bernadino attack as act of terrorism
FBI officer David Bowdich, Ass, Dir, of the FBI Los Angeles field office, confirmed for the first time Friday night that the bureau is investigating the San Bernadino attack, which killed 14 people Wednesday, Dec. 2, as an “act of terrorism.” He did not name any terrorist organization, saying only that telephone connections between the pair and “other subjects of investigation” had opened up this direction of inquiry. The shooters, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, died in a shootout with the police. Malik was known to have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State on Facebook shortly before the attack. The FBI officer disclosed Pakistan intelligence has contacted Malik’s family as part of the investigation.
