Fifteen Russian navy vessels in E. Mediterranean, spokesman says
A spokesman for Russia's Black Sea fleet said Thursday there are currently 15 Russian navy ships operating in the eastern Mediterranean, including a gas tanker and vessels providing logistical support.
Capt. Vyacheslav Trukhachyov said that the force includes two missile frigates — the Admiral Grigorovich and the Admiral Essen — and the three biggest landing ships in the Russian fleet — the Caesar Kunikov, the Azov and the Nikolai Filchenkov. He added that the force is being accompanied by anti-submarine vessels and minesweepers.
