Fighting diminishes since Ukraine ceasefire started at midnight

Spokesmen for the Ukrainian government and pro-Russian rebels both reported Sunday midday that fighting had subsided – but not stopped – in the east of the country since the ceasefire negotiated at Minsk last week came into effect Saturday midnight. Some shelling continued mainly around the besieged town of Debaltseve.
