Firefighting aircraft from Greece, Cyprus land in Israel
Four foreign firefighting planes with a total of 49 crew members landed in Israel on Thursday, providing a significant boost to Israel's firefighting efforts as wildfires continued to spread. An Air Tractor sent by Cyprus and two Bombadiers and a Hercules sent by Greece will be sent into action after brief preparations and coordination, the Israel Police said. The main advantage of the planes is their ability to disperse firefighting liquids and materials from the air. Similar planes from Russia and Croatia are also expected to arrive soon.
