First Jewish visitors and tourists enter Temple Mt. since terror attack
Monday morning, the Mughrabi Gate was reopened for Jews and tourists to visit Temple Mount, a day after two gates were opened for Muslims to worship at Al Aqsa mosque. The site was temporarily shuttered after Friday’s terror attack which left two Israeli police officers dead. Waqf clerics nonetheless refused to enter the shrine through the new metal detectors, although the first has long been in use at the Mughrabi Gate. Non-Muslim visitors could therefore tour the site Monday without a Waqf escort for the first time in years. Hundreds of Muslim worshippers defied the Wagf imams’ ban and ascended the mount through the metal detectors for prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque.
