First of 10,766 stations open for Israel’s national election

An electorate of 6.3 million eligible voters cast their ballots on Tuesday for the 22nd Knesset and a decision on whether to reelect Binyamin Netanyahu and his Likud or install Benny Gantz and his new Kachol Lavan party for their first term in power. The two rivals are the largest of the 29 lists running in Israel’s second national election in five months. Balloting ends at 2200 hours in most places, at which time the media will release first exit polls, and earlier in small communities. Real results are due on Wednesday.
