IDF Patriot anti-missile battery activated against Syrian UAV

Witnesses report that a Patriot anti-missile missile was fired east towards the Syrian border from the northern town of Safed Friday afternoon. Explosions were heard on the Golan. There was no siren alert and no information about the Patriot’s target. The IDF confirmed later that the Patriot  intercepted  a Syrian UAV as it approached the Israeli the border.

This was the second time in less than a week that the Patriot system went into action on the Syrian front, after intercepting a Syrian drone flying over the Sea of Galilee on Wednesday.
