First Russian officers visit Tal al-Harra overlooking Quneitra

Russian officers arrived Thursday in the Quneitra region and inspected the structures and fortifications on the Tal Al-Harrah hilltop after its capture this week by the Syrian army from rebel hands. They took careful measurements. DEBKAfile reports that the lofty 1,200m site offers a commanding view of the Golan and northern Israel.

Even though Syria has enough chaos on its hands, for what real purpose would Syria want to use the Tal Al-Harrah hilltop to spy on Israel’s Golan and northern Israel?
Assad should make peace with Israel and accept that the Golan is Israel, and Jewish for over 3000 years.

Any major adjustments must be done before the situation in Syria and Iraq settles.
