First Sunday worship at Church of the Holy Sepulcher
The three Christian denominations sharing the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, where they believe Jesus was buried and resurrected, reopened the shrine for prayer on Sunday under coronavirus guidelines. Normally packed with thousands of pilgrims from all over the world, entry was limited to 50 at a time, who were instructed to wear face masks and observe a two-meter distance. They were also told to avoid touching or kissing stones and other objects in the cavernous church, which had been closed since March under strict health guidelines for all houses of prayer. The Ministry of Health authorized renewed worship last week.
