Five Israelis wounded by terrorist in Tel Aviv
In an attack in the area of the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv on Thursday afternoon, a Palestinian man wielding a screwdriver wounded five Israelis before being shot dead. The terrorist, a 20-year-old resident of East Jerusalem who was working at a construction site near the scene of the attack, first stabbed a female soldier and tried to seize her assault rifle, but she resisted so he gave up and went on his way. The attacker then started stabbing other pedestrians nearby, but an IDF officer who was passing through the area saw what was happening and opened fire, preventing any further injuries. All of the wounded were taken to a local hospital. The incident marked the first attack in Tel Aviv during the current wave of terror.
