FM Lieberman proposes UN mandate for Gaza

Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Sunday that the best solution for the Gaza Strip was a UN mandate for international rule. He presented this idea to the Knesset Foreign Affairs Committee. It could be done by means an accord between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, he said. The worst situation would be ending Israel’s Defensive Edge counter-terror operation against Hamas without a clear outcome.
