Former Shin Bet Director: Try curfews instead of futile talks

Talks for persuading the Palestinians to agree to cool the current wave of terror are futile, said Avi Dichter, former Minister of Public Security and Shin Bet Director Tuesday. Better to pour many thousands of police and troops on the streets of Jerusalem and impose curfews and lockdowns on Palestinian districts. Dichter warned that the current terror offensive is just the beginning; if allowed to continue, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad will arm the boys with knives with explosives, turning them into suicide bombers to maximize Israeli deaths.
The Fatah “National and Islamic” branch declared Tuesday a “Day of Rage” for the masses to take to the streets to coincide with the general strike declared by Israeli Arab leaders.
