France deploys 5,000 police for Jewish schools
The French government has deployed 5,000 police officers to protect Jewish schools across France after terrorists attacked a kosher market on Jan. 9 and were planning to strike a nearby Jewish school.
Monday, French President Francois Hollande chaired a crisis meeting with cabinet ministers and security experts to discuss how known men with jihadist affiliations were able to launch surprise raids in Paris and murder 17 people.
In London, UK PM David Cameron met with security and intelligence experts to consider measures for forestalling potential terrorist attacks in Britain. He parried demands to extend the powers of anti-terror agencies ahead of an upcoming election.
