France protests US monitoring of million of phone calls

French Foreign Minister Larent Fabius summoned the US ambassador Monday to protest reports carried in Le Monde that the US National Security Agency monitored millions of phones of French businesses and officials as well as terrorism suspects. France says it finds such activity between allies unacceptable According to data leaked by former intelligence analyst Edward Snowden, the NSA spied on 70.3 million phone calls in France in the 30 days between last Dec. 10 and January 9, 2013.  .
