France to supply arms to Iraq’s Kurds “in coming hours”

French President Francois Hollande announced Wednesday that France would supply Iraqi Kurds with arms in the coming hours, in response to the urgent need expressed by the regional authorities in Kurdistan against the Islamist forces advancing on Irbil. The decision was approved by Baghdad. Tuesday the US authorized sending a further 130 military personnel to Irbil.
