France’s state of emergency extended by two months
The French parliament on Thursday morning extended by two months the state of emergency declared on November 13 of last year after a series of attacks on Paris. The official goal of the extension is to help the authorities protect the Euro 2016 football tournament, which will start on June 6 and last a month, and the Tour de France during most of July. The state of emergency allows the police to impose a curfew on wide areas and limit the movements of people and vehicles in places and times of operational need.
