Francois Fillon is conservative candidate for French president

Former French prime minister Alain Juppe Sunday conceded defeat to another former PM Francois Fillon in the second round of the French center-right Republican primary for next spring’s presidential election.
Partial results showed Fillon winning by a wide margin for the nomination to run against the far right National Front’s Marine le Pen.
