French and German leaders raise Ukraine ceasefire with Putin
French President Francois Holland and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday to discuss the Ukraine crisis. Among the solutions they discussed was a ceasefire in the fighting in the East. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ceremonies in Normandy commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day allied landings. Eighteen world leaders including President Barack Obama attended the ceremonies, as well as surviving veterans of the landings which led to the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of WWII almost a year later.
