Ft. Lauderdale airport shooter flew in with his firearm
The gunman was identified as Esteban Santiago with military ID, who flew in from Alaska by Canadian Airways.. He declared his firearm and checked it with his luggage before boarding the plane and collected it with his bags when the plane landed. He loaded in a bathroom, then came out shooting at passengers in the baggage claims area. The gunman is said to have emptied at least three magazines and aimed at his victims heads. No motive for the attack has been published. He was taken into custdoy unarmed.
Sheriff Scott Israel denied he was shot as earlier reported. He also denied second shooting took place at Ft. Lauderdale after the gunman was taken into custody after killing five people and injured eight.
