Gallant informs US Israel prepared for “prolonged campaign”
In a briefing to his US counterpart Lloyd Austin Wednesday night, defense minister Yoav Gallant said Israel “was prepared to wage a prolonged campaign in Gaza and face multi-front challenges.” Secretary Austin “underscored continued support for Israel’s right to defend its people from indiscriminate rocket attacks launched by terrorist groups.” He also urged “de-escalation towards a sustainable calm.” From Europe, Israel’s actions were deplored by France and the UK.
In two days, Jihad fired 469 rockets into Israeli towns and villages while the IDF mounted 133 strikes in Gaza against the Iran-backed terrorist group.
