A personal meeting has been set up for Kahol Lavan leader Benny Gantz and President Donald Trump on Monday, Gantz disclosed Saturday night. It will take place the day before the White House invited both PM Binyamin Netanyahu and Gantz for a briefing on the “Deal of the Century, which the Kahol Lavan leader had been advised to turn down as a pro-Netanyahu election ploy. Gantz stressed that the US president will receive him “separately and personally as the head of Israel’s largest party.” He said that he would urge the president’s peace initiative to be based on regional consensus. Gantz also made it clear that he would return home in time to lead the Knesset debate scheduled for Tuesday on Netanyahu’s application for immunity. This debate will take place in the prime minister’s absence in Washington. He is reported due to meet the president twice, on Monday and Tuesday.
