Gantz supports Knesset dissolution but leaves an opening for Netanyahu

Alternate PM Benny Gantz announced in a televised news conference Tuesday night that his Kahol Lavan party will Wednesday support the opposition’s motion on to dissolve the Knesset for a new election. He added however, that if PM Binyamin Netanyahu tables the delayed 2021 state budget at once, an election can be averted. If not, it is a certainty, and,  he said, “I will lead a unity government with no place for Netanyahu.”

Gantz thus committed 15 MKs under his lead for a majority for the opposition motion for dissolving the Knesset a majority. The right-wing Yemina’s leaders contributed another five votes.
