Gantz: The Gaza war is over, but Hamas may restart the fight

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz warned in a special order of the day, marking the end of Operation Defensive Edge Tuesday, that it was possible that Hamas would start another fight with Israel. He said that Hamas' aggression “had not taken us by surprise. We were well prepared. Our air, ground and sea forces fought with great strength and flexibility, armed with the most advanced and precise weapons, backed by quality intelligence, networked communications in real time and close logistical support.” Gantz emphasized that Israeli stubbornly stood by its high values, treating human life with the fullest possible consideration and observing battle ethics – in contrast to”a cynical and brutal enemy which had no qualms about using civilians as human shields.”  Gen. Gantz concluded by saying: “The people of Israel all thank you.”
