Gaza border residents protest in Tel Aviv for security

A large group of residents from the Israeli communities adjacent to the Gaza Strip demonstrated in Tel Aviv Sunday, brandishing placards saying: “Brothers, wake up, the entire South is ablaze!” and “We demand security.” They briefly blocked a main Tel Aviv intersection until police ordered them to move back. In Sderot, many parents kept their children home from school in the face of IDF directives to return to normal, maintaining they don’t feel safe after seven consecutive days – and 17 years – of Palestinian terrorist aggression from the neighboring Gaza Strip.

That’s a problem, as the Israeli Land Authority subsidizes settlement next to borders.
If one lives next to Syria in the Golan or next to Asa it is dangerous and there is nearly no time left to run into a fortified room of the house (the buker would be too far). Its just seconds.

So Israel would be better of to subsidize building at a safe distance of about 10km and convertig the area next to borders into army testing ground so the army can quickly change from war games to real hot war without having to care for civilians who glued their homes to the border walls.

This is the biggest issue as bombs and howitzers are not that precise.
