Gaza ceasefire indefinitely postponed

Israel is reported to have spurned Palestinian Islamic Jihad demands for concessions as the price for ceasing its massive rocket offensive on Israel’s towns and villages. According to one report, the PIJ wanted Israel to release two detained members captured on the West Bank. Egypt which has been brokering the negotiations has set no new timeline for a truce after the eight o’clock deadline came and went without a pause in the combat.
