German exit poll gives Merkel 32.5pc lead, the far right  13.5pc

Exit poll: Angela Merkel wins her fourth term as chancellor with her Christian Democrats party gaining 32.5 pc of the vote in the German election Sunday, followed by her former coalition partner and chief challenger, the left-of-center Socialist party with 20pc. The Greens did well with 9pc. The big change on Germany’s political sscene is the far right anti-immigrant AfD party’s first entry to the Bundestag after scooping 13.5 of the vote. After her party lost some ground and the right wing’s ascent, Merkel  will find forming a government coalition more complicated than ever before.
