Germany approves sale of more submarines to Israel – report
Germany's national security council has approved a deal to sell another three Dolphin-class nuclear-capable submarines to Israel, magazine Der Spiegel reported on Friday. The Berlin government is financing one third- of the $1.5bn transaction. The publication reports a clause in the contract giving the vendors the right to withdraw if corruption allegations are proven. Israel already has five submarines of the Dolphin Class, which can be equipped with nuclear warheads and a sixth is under construction. Its nuclear-capable submarine fleet will have a total of nine vessels..
