Global fatalities from covid-19 pass 30,000

Over 665,000 infected cases were confirmed in at least 170 countries and territories by Sunday. More than 30,000 died while some 140,000 have recovered. Italy confirmed 889 new coronavirus deaths in one day, ramping up its fatality count past 10,000, while Spain’s death toll jumped to 5,690 after 832 patients died on Saturday. In the US, the virus hit more than 104,000 people with deaths going past 1,700.
