Government ends quarantine “hotel” program for arrivals

A weeks after ordering all incoming passengers to go straight into quarantine hotels upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, the health minister has called off the program. Arrivals from overseas will now take a first covid test upon landing, go into isolation at home, and take a second test after 12 days. The original decree, taken last week in the panic following the emergence of the British covid mutation, caused havoc at the airport and set up an outcry by people forcibly kept in the hotels.
