Government relief for covid-19-hit businesses ramped up after stormy meeting

The government has decided to increase the national relief fund for businesses hit by the coronavirus crisis to NIS90 billion($26 billion), almost double the original NIS50 billion. The eligibility criteria for aid will also be relaxed. Friday afternoon, PM Binyamin Netanyahu received a group of business owners and heard their grievances which they said were not addressed by the new relief package unveiled on Thursday. A large protest rally is scheduled for Saturday night in Tel Aviv.
