Gunman shot dead after taking hostages in German cinema

An armed man entered a movie theater and took hostages in Viernheim, southwest Germany on Thursday afternoon. He was later shot dead by elite police, and all of the hostages were released unharmed. Police said they had no details on the man's identity or motives.
