Hamas’ A-Zahar holds talks in Lebanon, Tehran

The top Hamas leader in Gaza, Mahmoud A-Zahar, recently visited Lebanon twice for secret talks with Hizballah chiefs before flying to Tehran. DEBKAfile: In Lebanon the Hamas leader was taken by Hizballah commanders on tours of the South and the eastern Beqaa valley to coordinate their operations in a future war. In Tehran, he met Revolutionary Guards and Al Qods Brigades chiefs and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani who said Hamas was now part of the “resistance” movement.
