Hamas Gaza leader Sinwar contracts coronavirus
As the Gaza Strip struggles with a galloping covid assault, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, 58, has been infected and said to be working from home. Sinwar served five life sentences in Israeli jails for murder before being freed in a swap for Israeli soldier ilad Shalit in 2011. The pandemic sweeping two million Gazans threatens to overwhelm their underdeveloped medical services. Israel is facilitating the delivery of international aid to the Palestinian enclave.
