Hamas leader: Arafat gave Palestinians green light for terror

Mahmoud a-Zahar, Hamas leader, recalled that Yasser Arafat gave the Palestinians the green light to launch terrorist attacks on Israel after the failed 2000 Camp David peace talks. He ordered the Palestinian Authority to supply the Palestinian organizations with arms, in violation of the Oslo peace accords. A-Zahar spoke in a Hamas TV interview Monday. His disclosure refutes the standard Palestinian claim that the suicide intifada was provoked in 2000 by Ariel Sharon’s visit to Temple Mount.
